POSTBAHNHOF
The Postbahnhof is a historic ensemble of buildings in Berlin consisting of a postal service building and two freight halls. It was commissioned in 1904 by the Berlin Oberpostdirektion.
The ensemble was an important part of Berlin’s postal history and is a significant monument of industrial architecture. In the planned revitalization of the Postbahnhof, it is essential to handle the existing fabric with care and work closely with the heritage authorities. The redesign should both respect the historical significance of the building and meet contemporary requirements for a modern structure.
A key aspect of the renovation is the careful reconstruction of the building’s surviving fragments. The original parts should be preserved and integrated into the new design. We have chosen an approach that respects the historical importance of the building while integrating modern elements to prepare it for the future.
