HAUS DER STATISTIK

Natural Building LabTU Berlin, 2022

The focus of this project is on building and supporting a sense of community. We are planning three wooden buildings that are eco-friendly, efficient, and sustainable. The ground floor is designed as a social hub. It includes existing neighborhood functions and opens up to the surrounding community. We are also creating flexible spaces that residents can use and adapt freely.

The housing concept encourages shared living: private spaces are combined with shared areas like kitchens and bathrooms. This brings people together, promoting interaction and a sense of community. To allow for more shared spaces, the private areas are intentionally kept smaller. The three buildings are connected by staircases, elevators, and a walkway. The walkway links different areas, such as community spaces, neighborhood corners, and accessible rooftops, providing places for people to meet and connect. We are using reversible construction methods from the start. This means materials can be easily taken apart, recycled, or reused when needed, supporting a sustainable approach to building.
