The project keeps all existing remains of the villa and places itself in between, creating a journey that allows guests to experience Attraverso and its wine culture at their own pace. On the footprint of the old existing building, the project splits the program into two volumes, separating public functions and hotel accommodation. In between, a step back brings the curated garden to the front and opens the project up to its guests.
The Villa occupies the intact part of the complex. All historic walls are preserved and the interior reorganized across two floors to accommodate eight guest rooms, a leisure space, a reading area, and the wine boutique. Ground floor rooms open onto the garden, while upper floor rooms feature a small French balcony. The leisure room sits on the ground floor facing the courtyard, shifting throughout the day between inside and outside, from morning coffee to evening drinks in the open air.
The Pavilion is carefully integrated between the remaining fragments of the ruin, respectfully preserving its historic character while expanding the hotel’s program with a restaurant, a bar, and a wine tasting room. A sequence of in-between spaces emerges between old masonry and new structure, framing the vineyard differently as the light shifts through the day. The restaurant is open to hotel guests and visitors alike, with direct access from the arrival courtyard, opening up towards the venetian landscape for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The tasting room sits closest to the historic arch and the vineyard beyond, offering a direct connection between the Pavilion and the landscape, with guided tours departing from here into the rows of vines.
Outside, the grounds are organized around the logic of the building. To the south, a shared courtyard serves as the main point of arrival, giving independent access to the restaurant for outside guests. To the north, a private garden and pool sit alongside the guest rooms, set away from the shade of the building and sheltered from the public life of the winery. Between the ruins and the vines, the landscape unfolds in a sequence of moments, open courtyards, quiet corners and wild edges, where smaller in between spaces emerge naturally, activated with carefully placed objects and framed views that turn the walk through the grounds into a curated experience.
